N THE HIATUS following the collapse of the Empire, each of the newly-formed kingdoms established its own currency.  Coins from the Empire still circulated, their original values largely forgotten, but were used as a model for the new monies.  Cross-fertilising with local counting traditions, each realm has its own distinctive names and scales for their currency.  Denominations of coins also vary widely, and include far more than just the two or three named units in each realm; these are not given here.

The relative values of the main units of the currency are as shown in the second table below.  As money is minted from precious metals, there is no movement in these relative values. All costs, income, etc., will be reported in the currency local to your family seat.
